What is Zardozi embroidery used for?
The Mughal emperors in India later adopted zardozi embroidery, a form of metal embroidery that had its beginnings in Persia. The Persian terms "zar," which means gold, and "dozi," which means embroidery, are the origin of the word "zardozi." Intricate patterns are stitched onto fabrics using wires made of gold, silver, and copper, precious stones, and beads.
Traditional Indian and Pakistani apparel, such as sarees, lehengas, and sherwanis, are frequently embellished with zardozi embroidery. Additionally, it is utilized to adorn belts, shoes, and backpacks. Additionally, zardozi embroidery is occasionally used to adorn household items like wall hangings, cushion covers, and drapes.
