Where was needlework invented?
A type of decorative needlework known as embroidery entails using thread, yarn, or other materials to make intricate patterns on fabric or other materials. The history of embroidery spans thousands of years and numerous cultures and geographical areas, making it difficult to pinpoint its exact beginnings. The intricate silk embroideries made in China and other areas of Asia, as well as the hand-sewn decorations discovered on ancient Egyptian burial shrouds, are some of the earliest instances of embroidery. Many European nations have a long history of embroidery as a traditional art form, with examples of embroidered tapestries and clothing going back to the Middle Ages.
